Young Arts | Holiday Club (Easter)

Arts University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts feature the university's renowned Saturday Arts Clubs and for over 30 years has worked to bridge the gap in arts provision for young people created by increasingly limited access to creative activity in schools.

<p dir="ltr">This is a three day holiday club featuring your favourite creative activities, brought together under the theme of ‘Urban City,’ so all your creations will feature urban scenes or styles. </p> <p dir="ltr">All the work created will be brought together in a pop-up exhibition for your family to view at the end of the club on Thursday.</p> <p dir="ltr">In this three day holiday club, you will work with specialist tutors in a variety of practical sessions over the three days. There may be some single day ticket options available but if you choose a single day ticket, you may not be able to do all the activities.</p> <p dir="ltr">Activities will include:</p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Cardboard Town: Build a cardboard town in a large scale group piece </p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Street Style Stencil: Create Banksy style street art inspired stencils</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Painting The Rooftops: create a finished artwork featuring just the tops of our city</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Skyline Collagraphs: print a dramatic skyline</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Photobashing: Using photoshop, you’ll create spliced buildings or a merged imaginative city scene</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Portraiture Session: Your chance to create a piece of work to enter <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/posts/the-box-and-arts-university-plymouth-launch-children-and-young-peoples-portrait-competition" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Box x Arts University Plymouth Portrait competition</a> which is themed around representation in art galleries and museums, with guidance from an experienced tutor</p></li></ul> <p dir="ltr">No previous experience or skill level is required, the emphasis will be on trying a new technique and helping you to create successful outcomes. All materials are provided on each day.</p> <p dir="ltr">The age range for this course is 9-14yrs, so some activities will have different levels of difficulty to engage all levels of experience.
