Young Arts | Half Term Holiday Club (Oct 2023)

Arts University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts feature the university's renowned Saturday Arts Clubs and for over 30 years has worked to bridge the gap in arts provision for young people created by increasingly limited access to creative activity in schools.

This is a two day holiday club featuring your favourite creative creative activities brought together under the theme "High Contrast".

In this two day holiday club, you will work with tutors in a variety of practical sessions over the two days.

Activities will include; monochrome painting using light and shade only, learning to build your drawing using white chalk on dark colours, using simple shapes and building techniques to create silhouette moving puppets that will be part of an eerie moving image procession suitable for halloween, plus plenty more to keep you creating.

No previous experience or skill level is required, the emphasis will be on trying a new technique and helping you to create successful outcomes. All materials are provided on each day.

The age range for this course is 9-14yrs, so some activities will have different levels of difficulty to engage all levels of experience. You will be buddied up with others a similar age for any group work and breaks, for example there may be a primary and secondary school age group working to the same brief but at different levels.
