Young Arts | Summer Art & Design Club August 2022

Course Duration

3 days

Arts University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts feature the university's renowned Saturday Arts Clubs and for over 30 years has worked to bridge the gap in arts provision for young people created by increasingly limited access to creative activity in schools.

In this three day Summer course for children aged 9-14, you will learn multiple art and design techniques and produce new art works to take home. Following on from our July club, this course will have a water theme but all new activities, celebrating Plymouth’s links with the water and coast.

Art forms will include;

  • Ships on the water, detailed sketching and using markers with ink to create vibrant images (on location at the Barbican if weather allows)

  • Animation (TBC)

  • Water celebration or god/myth mask making

  • Drawing

  • Photocollage

  • Fashion design

Each day you will be taught a new art, design or media technique as your main activity and have several other activities throughout to keep you entertained all day long.

All you need to bring is a packed lunch as everything else will be in the studio ready for you. Lunch breaks are taken with us onsite.
