Young Arts | Summer Art & Design Club July 2022

Course Duration

4 days

Arts University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts feature the university's renowned Saturday Arts Clubs and for over 30 years has worked to bridge the gap in arts provision for young people created by increasingly limited access to creative activity in schools.

In this four day Summer course you will learn multiple art and design techniques and produce new art works to take home. This course will have a water theme, celebrating Plymouth's links with the water and the coast. Some activities will be outdoor, so will be weather dependent.

Art forms will include;

  • Water balloon photography (outdoor activity) capturing the moment of explosion

  • Large scale (A1) watercolour painting

  • Textile art using dyes and stitching to create an imaginative scene

  • Using water pistols and ink bombs to make a colourful artwork

  • Drawing

  • Clay making

  • Design

Each day you will be taught a new art, design or media technique as your main activity and have several other activities throughout to keep you entertained all day long.

All you need to bring is a packed lunch as everything else will be in the studio ready for you. Lunch breaks are taken with us onsite.
