Merlin Perry

Merlin is an animator and artist, currently working with Soundbites Studios, London, responding to a variety of creative briefs, often directing and producing animated music video content. Most recently Merlin has worked with various independent freelance clients and major studios such as Sony and Universal Music Group. Clients include a range of professionals from Sir Elton John and Take That, to social media influencers such as Elle Darby.

This also contributes to Merlin remaining highly proficient in a variety of software applications and their respected workflows.

Merlin discovered a roaring passion for the animated craft, particularly within the design of 3D and the possibilities in merging the gap between CGI and traditional 2D, whilst studying for his BA (Hons) Illustration degree. After graduating, Merlin went on to complete a Masters Degree in 3D Computer Animation with First Class Honours. Merlin’s Final Major Project was drafted for The Rookies Finalists and was awarded an Excellence certificate for his achievements.

Merlin continues to actively investigate new approaches to animation and visual arts, ever-expanding on his own practice, and enhancing his teaching on BA (Hons) Animation & Games. As a practicing artist, Merlin ensures the content delivered reflects that of the latest industry trends in emerging techniques and processes. For more, see www.artstation.com/merlinperry
