In 2014 Vicky began collaborative research with Gary Simmonds, Senior Lecturer & Course Leader in Creative Art Practice at Sheffield Hallam University and Theo Sykes (Thorody). This research is ongoing. Operating under the group name of simputsyk, the working title for their research is: Collaboration and the Democracy of Pattern.
They share a common interest in pattern, repetition and geometrical visual playfulness. The interplay between art and decoration takes surface patterns into three dimensions, changing their form and adding elements of chance to the mix. Resolutely analogue in their approach, they embrace formalism, avant-garde jazz and other abstract notions.
