Professor Paul Fieldsend-Danks elected as the new Director of UKADIA

Professor Paul Fieldsend-Danks has been elected as the new Director of UKADIA, a group of leading specialist arts and design institutions from all regions of the UK.
<p dir="ltr">Professor Paul Fieldsend-Danks, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Arts University Plymouth, has been elected as the <a href="https://ukadia.ac.uk/2024/12/20/professor-paul-fieldsend-danks-vice-chancellor-of-arts-university-plymouth-elected-as-the-new-director-of-ukadia/">new Director of UKADIA</a>. UKADIA is a grouping of 18 leading specialist arts and design institutions from all regions of the UK and managed by GuildHE, an officially recognised representative body for UK higher education, championing distinction and diversity in the sector.</p> <p dir="ltr">UKADIA promotes the key contributions of specialist arts institutions to the UK’s growth and prosperity, the value of creative skills to all industries and disciplines, and supports diversity of student choice and experiences in the UK higher education infrastructure. <br /></p>

<p dir="ltr">Professor Paul Fieldsend-Danks takes over from Professor Paul Gough, Vice-Chancellor of Arts University Bournemouth, who held the post for five years and is now retiring. </p> <p dir="ltr">Professor Paul Fieldsend-Danks said: “Specialist institutions play a vital role in driving the UK’s cultural and creative industries, contributing billions to the economy while equipping students with the skills to solve the complex global challenges of tomorrow. In a period of change and challenge for creative educators, UKADIA’s collective voice is more important than ever in championing our sector’s distinctive strengths. I would like to extend my deepest thanks to Professor Paul Gough for his exceptional leadership and dedication to UKADIA over the past five years. It’s a privilege to build on his legacy."<br /></p>
