<p>After completing his MA in Textile Design at the Royal College of Art, <a href="http://www.kitmiles.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kit Miles</a> formed his own studio, steeped in the values of quality, exquisite draughtsmanship and a futuristic, often surprising use of scale colour and imagery.</p> <p>The studio quickly gained international press attention from the likes of <a href="http://www.worldofinteriors.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">World of Interiors</a>, the <a href="http://www.ft.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Financial Times</a> and <a href="http://www.elledecor.it/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Elle Decor Italia</a>, all hailing Miles’ aptitude for designing striking and original fabrics and wallpapers as ‘vivid’ and ‘ground-breaking’.</p>

<p>The workshop was organised for our third-year students, kickstarting the important aspect of drawing for their final module. Our second-year students also had the chance to take part for the visual research of their personal project.</p> <p>Second-year student Ellie O’Rourke said: “Kit gave me the confidence to draw in many different ways, he is extremely passionate and helped me appreciate the many possibilities within a still life.”</p> <p>Ranging from exotic fruit to butterflies and maps, all the students set up their own still life which were used as a stimulus for their projects.</p>
