<p>Do you love ASMR, mixing sounds or music? Are you compelled by what you hear, more than by what you see? Can you imagine yourself recording, mixing and experimenting with sound?<br /><br />We are excited to offer you the chance to take part in our first ever<strong> <a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-sound-arts-2021" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BA (Hons)</a> </strong><strong><a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-sound-arts-2021" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sound Arts</a> Competition</strong>, and win a brand new <a href="https://shop.playtronica.com/products/touchme" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Playtronica Touch Activated Midi Controller</a> for your school or college!<br /><br />The <strong>Sound Arts Competition 2021</strong> is an invitation for anyone <strong>aged 15+</strong> to produce a soundtrack for a video using completely interesting and unusual sounds. Whether you attend school, sixth-form or college, it is free to take part in this challenge, and the winner will receive:</p><ul><li>A <a href="https://shop.playtronica.com/products/touchme" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Playtronica Touch Activated Midi Controller</a> for your school or college’s music department.</li><li>Professional advice from lecturers <a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/people/neil-rose" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Neil Rose</a> and <a href="https://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/people/russell-cleave" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a href="mailto:rcleave@pca.ac.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Russell Cleave</a>.</li><li>The top 10 runners-up will also be featured on Plymouth College of Art’s BA (Hons) Sound Arts <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pca_soundarts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">instagram page</a>.</li></ul><p><strong><br /></strong></p>
We are seeking a soundscape that allows listeners to experience sound as a sonic landscape: a rhythmic, undulating, unfolding, immersion in sound.
Sound Arts Course Team
<p>Your soundtrack can be made using <a href="https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xyciW3PEOCdME3hFSYeciQwjrXBACRBE" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sound recordings by Plymouth College of Art</a> provided below, your own recordings, or a mixture of the two.
