Exhibition of emerging designer‐makers from the SouthWest Runs Saturday 17 January – Sunday 8 March 2015
<p><strong>Applications are now open for Get Fresh, an exhibition of emerging designer‐makers from the South West, taking place from Saturday 17 January – Sunday 8 March 2015.</strong></p> <p>Did you graduate or finish training no more than 5 years ago?</p> <p>If you're self‐taught, did you start your career within the last 5 years?</p> <p>In addition:</p> <p>Do you live in the South West?</p> <p>Do you work in an area of craft (including photography, printmaking &amp; sculpture) producing innovative, imaginative work coupled with a sensitive use of appropriate materials?</p> <p>Can you demonstrate the potential to achieve the highest standards of workmanship and design, together with a clear sense of personal direction?</p> <p>If you can answer YES to any of these questions, why not enter?</p> <p>Now established as a key exhibition in the South West, the aim of Get Fresh is to celebrate and expose the commitment, diversity and outstanding craftsmanship of emerging designer‐makers from the South West (Bath, Bristol &amp; Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire).</p> <p>Supported by the Devon Guild of Craftsmen’s Associate Membership Scheme, Get Fresh aims to:</p><ul><li>Profile the South West’s exceptional emerging makers</li><li>Celebrate commitment and diversity</li><li>Promote the Devon Guild’s Associate Membership Scheme</li><li>Award free Associate Membership for 1 year to selected exhibitors</li><li>Provide support &amp; encouragement</li><li>Facilitate critical debate</li></ul><p>The competition selection panel includes ‐ John Grayson, Metalsmith, Craft Researcher and Programme Leader for Contemporary Crafts at Plymouth College of Art, and Saffron Wynne, Devon Guild of Craftsmen curator.</p> <p>How to enter:</p> <p>Please submit via email: an artists' statement, CV, price list and six digital images of current work</p> <p>Send to: Saffron Wynne, Exhibitions Manager or Flora Pearson, Exhibitions Officer</p> <p>saffron.wynne@crafts.org.uk / flora.pearson@crafts.org.uk</p> <p>Email applications will receive an acknowledgment; if you don’t receive one, please resend.</p> <p>This information is also available to download on the <a href="http://crafts.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Devon Guild of Craftsmen</a> website.</p>
