We'll pay your travel costs: Claim up to £80 when you visit us
Thursday, 1 June, 2023 — Did you know we may be able to help out with some of your travel expenses when you visit us? Read on to find out how to make your claim.

<p dir="ltr">Virtual events and tours are a great way to get a first look at universities, but for many people nothing beats coming to see the space for yourself and feeling the atmosphere as you walk around campus. </p>
<p dir="ltr">At Arts University Plymouth, we love to show off our facilities and give you the chance to talk to our students and expert staff in person, whether to ask about a piece of kit or to get some crucial advice on the support available to you throughout your time with us. </p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>That’s why we’re offering you up to £80 to help pay for your travel expenses when you get the chance to visit us in person. </strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">When you visit us, either for an <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/open-days">Open Day</a> or for a bespoke <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/visit/book-a-tour">Campus Tour</a>, we’ll make sure you get an experience that will give you a taste of what it’s like to study here.</p>

Royal William Yard in Plymouth was designed by Victorian architect Sir John Rennie and constructed between 1825 and 1831, and is the largest collection of Grade 1 listed military buildings in Europe. Steeped in history, it is now home to restaurants and cafes, creative exhibition and event spaces, boutique beauty and hair salons, and independent shops. <p>Our Travel Bursary is available to any students who are interested in studying a Arts University Plymouth for BA (Undergraduate) study.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The below list shows what you could claim on travel costs:</p><ul><li>0-50 miles up to £20</li><li>50-150 miles up to £40</li><li>151-250 miles up to £60</li><li>251 miles and above up to £80</li></ul><p dir="ltr">If driving, you can claim 45p per mile up to 120 miles and then 15p thereafter (up to allocated mileage bursary)*</p>
<p dir="ltr">*Travel costs are calculated on distance travelled to Arts University Plymouth only (one way). This will be determined via Google maps.</p>
<ol><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Arrange a visit with us - sign up for an <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/open-days">Open Day</a></p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Book your travel (remember to keep your receipts!)</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Visit the campus</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Before you leave, pick up a Travel Bursary Form at campus reception and hand in your form, along with any supporting documents, and make sure that a member of our Recruitment Team has signed it off. </p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Payment will take up to 6 weeks to show up in your account</p></li></ol>
<p><strong>Terms & Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Our Travel Bursary Scheme is available to any student interested in BA (Undergraduate) study at Arts University Plymouth. Only one claim can be made per household. </li><li>The Travel Bursary covers travel directly to & from Arts University Plymouth only. It does not include parking costs, accommodation or other travel related expense </li><li>All claims must be submitted to and verified by a member of the recruitment team staff on the day of your visit. We will not process claims submitted after the day of your visit. </li><li>We reserve the right to refuse a claim where details submitted to us are incorrect or insufficient. We will not follow up with you to retrieve incomplete details so ensure that this form is completed in FULL. </li><li>Claims are based on mileage OR receipt for public transport. If claiming based on receipt this must be given to a member of the recruitment team along with your completed form on the day of your visit. If claiming based on mileage the following information indicates the amount available to you, we will process this based on mileage to and from your home address directly. </li><li>0-50 miles up to £20</li><li>50-150 miles up to £40</li><li>151-250 miles up to £60</li><li>251 miles and above up to £80</li><li>Accepting a Travel Bursary does not commit you to accept Arts University Plymouth as your firm or insurance choice.
