Arts University Plymouth graduate Moon Seungsung returns to Plymouth on Friday 21 November with confluence; currents of analogue film, sound and form at Leadworks, 170 Rendle Street, Stonehouse, PL1 1TP.

Doors open at 6pm for a slow, sensory evening where hand-processed film, live music, sculpture and painting meet — with small plates of Korean food.

Confluence is the first gathering under at confluence, a new artist-led platform shaped by care, collaboration and materiality. The night opens with time to explore the space: sculpture by Kristofer Stone and paintings by Alisha-May Lewis set a tone of embodied mark-making and ecological attention.

At 7pm the room settles for an analogue screening of Matt Trumfield’s over land flow and *Moon Seungsung’s miyeok-guk, followed by a short break and a live performance led by composer Sohee Baek with Chaeeun Lee on haegeum, featuring original music from Moon’s films. The evening closes with Moon’s on the way to jip and a Q&A.

Moon works with expired Super 8, hand-processed film and 35mm stills to explore memory, identity and the quiet in-between. Her practice resists neat narratives in favour of intimacy and presence; on the way to jip searches gently for what “home (집)” might mean.
