DEGREE SHOWS – Angela Datseri's vibrant multi-disciplinary collaborations
Wednesday, 12 June, 2019 — For the 2019 Degree Shows, Angela created a bespoke dress after printing her illustrations on fabric, working with photographers and filmmakers to model her own designs in a promotional shoot.
<h5>Illustrator and designer <a href="https://www.angeladatseri.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Angela Datseri</a> creates colourful and vibrant illustrations, working with a variety of subjects, gathering inspiration from everyday life, fashion, people and nature.</h5>
<p>For the <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/posts/in-pictures-degree-shows-2019">2019 Degree Shows,</a> Angela created a bespoke dress after printing her illustrations on fabric, working with photographers and filmmakers to model her own designs in a promotional shoot.</p>
<p>To create and shoot the dress <a href="https://www.instagram.com/angela_d_art/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Angela</a> collaborated in the studio and on location with <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-fashion-design">BA (Hons) Fashion </a>student Rose Garcia, <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-commercial-photography-1">BA (Hons) Commercial Photography for Fashion, Advertising and Editorial </a>student Mi Kelly, and <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/ba-hons-film-screen-arts">BA (Hons) Film</a> students Joe Dunn and Luke Matthews.</p>
<p>Angela, who is originally from Greece, said: “I found Plymouth College of Art to be such an inspirational place, even before deciding what I wanted to study. After visiting for an Open Day and seeing how students from all the different programmes collaborate and work together, I knew that this would be a creative and friendly environment where I could develop new skills and explore other creative practices.”</p>
