<p>'Survey' provides Jerwood Charitable Foundation's largest review of contemporary art practice in its 12 years of programming, spanning a breadth of disciplines. Marking a departure from its 17 year support of the Jerwood Drawing Prize, and coinciding with Frieze London 2018, 'Survey' takes a non-institutional approach to selection with 35 mid-career artists - including Steven Paige, Ryan Gander, Andy Holden and Rachel Maclean - nominating the most promising new UK artists working today.</p> <p>Artists have been selected from nominations made by over 50 established artists, between them covering each UK region, to seek the most outstanding and dynamic early-career artists making work currently. The selection has been made by Sarah Williams, Head of Programme, Jerwood Visual Arts.</p> <p>Exhibiting artists: Chris Alton, Simeon Barclay, Hazel Brill, Flo Brooks, Emma Cousin, Joe Fletcher Orr, Tom Goddard, Ashley Holmes, Lindsey Mendick, Nicole Morris, Milly Peck, Anna Raczynski, Will Sheridan Jr, Rae-Yen Song and Frank Wasser.</p>

<p>Steven Paige nominated artist Flo Brooks (b. 1987), who uses painting, collage and drawing to explore relationships between gender, labour, pathology and architecture. Predominantly working with acrylic on wood, he uses his own experience as a queer transperson to examine how different power relations are reproduced and sustained within specific contemporary settings, to throw up questions of autonomy, agency and ownership. Flo Brooks graduated with a BFA Fine Art from Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, University of Oxford in 2010.
