Graphic Design grad Hannah Pellatt selected as 'One to Watch' by Design Council
2014 graduate Hannah Pellatt has made it a hat-trick for our Graphic Design programme after being selected as ‘One to Watch’ by the Design Council.
Hannah impressed the legendary Graphic Designer Malcolm Garrett – who created the iconic artwork for bands like Buzzcocks, Magazine, Simple Minds, Duran Duran and Peter Gabriel – who picked her as a designer to watch in a blog for the Design Council.
“Hannah Pellatt created the Education progression pack. This is a fresh typographic take on the standard course brochure,” Malcolm wrote.
“With typographic precision the designer deconstructs core information about arts education and available pathways, and presents it in three clear and effective sections, in a way that recognises and responds to the intended audience’s visual taste.
"I was impressed by the clarity of the editorial structure that was determined through careful analysis and rewriting of the texts, the attention to typographic detail, and the disciplined simplicity with which the three sections are compiled and presented both individually and as a set."
Hannah joins BA (Hons) Graphic Design grads Gethin Oliver and Ash Henderson in picking up awards this year.
Ash won the New Designers Sky Award for his interactive and heat-sensitive educational tool for children, while Gethin won a competition by Optasports for his slick football infographic.
