Illustration lecturer Caroline Pedler to exhibit at world's largest children's book fair
As one of just three UK artists selected to exhibit at the world’s largest children’s book fair, BA (Hons) Illustration lecturer Caroline Pedler will be showing works from her new collection for the very first time.
During her 20 year career, Caroline has illustrated over 50 books for writers and publishers in the UK and the US, which have then been translated into 27 different languages around the world.
Specialising in creating books for children, for the 2018 Bologna Children’s Book Fair she has focussed on developing her own authorial works and sharing them with the public and key publishers.
A jury of five professional judges examined artworks submitted by over 3000 artists to select the final 77 exhibitors. The chosen artists come from a range of 25 countries and regions across the globe, including Columbia, Korea, Mexico and Belgium.
The 2018 Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the 55th edition of the exhibition, and since its inception in 1967 has showcased many prestigious and emerging illustrators. With an estimated 26,000 visitors each year, the fair brings together a unique and diverse global audience.
Publishers, illustrators, literary agents, authors, translators, mobile developers, licensors and licensees, distributors, audiobook professionals, booksellers, brands, librarians and teachers flock to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair each spring to experience the business world of books and multimedia products in hundreds of booths across six huge halls.
