Audiences will experience two of Moon’s most personal works, Miyeok-guk and on the way to jip, which piece together moments of connection with her parents, her language and the places she once left behind. Using Super 8, 16mm and hand-processed 35mm, her films speak in texture and feeling rather than exposition, incorporating materials such as seaweed from Plymouth Hoe to connect process and memory.

The screening will also feature over land flow by Matt Trumfield, a fellow 2025 BA (Hons) Film & Screen Arts graduate. Shot entirely on 16mm, his film traces the movement of water, its rhythms, silences and life, as a meditation on change and connection.

Live music will be led by South Korean composer, pianist and arranger Sohee Baek, whose original score shaped on the way to jip. Currently completing her Master’s in electronic music at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Sohee blends traditional Korean rhythms (jangdan) and breath with contemporary instrumentation, creating spaces where sound becomes memory. She has performed at venues including Somerset House, the Courtauld Gallery and Barbican Cinema.

Performers include:

Lauren Peck – saxophonist

Euan Su – violinist and composer/producer (alias ECHURA), specialising in animation, games and media composition

Seungyeon Lee – guitarist

Kangsan Lee – traditional Korean percussionist, with credits including the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony with EXO, Gucci GAOK and Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture

All tickets include a drink and Korean-inspired snacks, and the evening will conclude with a Q&A with Moon.
