Plymouth College of Art selected for introduction in Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2017

The latest edition of Bloomberg's New Contemporaries features an introduction citing Plymouth College of Art's innovative approach to teaching crafts.

New Contemporaries is the leading organisation supporting emerging art practice from UK art education institutions. With a legacy that extends back to 1949, New Contemporaries has consistently provided an independent and critical platform for art graduates.

<p>The latest edition of Bloomberg's New Contemporaries features an introduction from <a href="http://freelandsfoundation.co.uk/">Freelands Foundation</a> founder Henry Ward, in which he discusses Plymouth College of Art's innovative approach to teaching craft as a forward-thinking independent art school. This follows the production of <a href="http://freelandsfoundation.co.uk/film/thinking-making">Thinking Making</a> at the college, the second in a series of films from the foundation, highlighting the most exciting work happening in art education in the UK.</p> <p>Actively working to address the issues facing emerging artists, New Contemporaries provides mentoring opportunities as well as financial support in the form of covering exhibition fees, travel expenses and materials.
