Pop Into Our Drake Circus Pop-Up Shop for Free Portraits.

This week, in Plymouth College of Art's Drake Circus Pop-Up Shop, Photography tutors and students are setting up a portrait studio!
<p><strong>This week, in Plymouth College of Art’s </strong><strong>Drake Circus Pop-Up Shop, Photography tutors and students are setting up a portrait studio!</strong></p> <p>For a small donation members of the public can drop into the shop to have professional style portraits and sample some of the excellent photographic work from students on display.</p> <p>The weeklong studio, open until Saturday, is part of a series of pop-up events bringing the creativity and excitement of the college to the public.</p> <p>ND Photography Course Leader, Tobie Loates says: “<em>This event is a great opportunity to showcase the talents of our further education and higher</em> <em>education students. Roughly three quarters of the space has been turned into a gallery exhibiting students’ work from the recent Summer Show.</em></p> <p><em>As a college, we are one of the best-resourced photographic departments in the country. We also have the pop-up studio open for members of the public to have their portraits taken and discover some of the specialist industry standard equipment we have.”</em></p> <p>People will be able to see their portraits instantly on live screens, and take a copy home on C.D. This is a free service, but the College are asking for contributions, which will go to the charity Jeremiah’s Journey.</p> <p>Throughout the summer, Plymouth College of Art are taking up residency in the previously empty store between Yo!Sushi and Parchment, donated courtesy of property investment company British Land, who own Drake Circus.</p> <p>Since June, different subject areas have occupied the Drake Circus retail space for a week at a time, offering a taste of courses at the college including Illustration, Costume Production, Fine Art, Fashion, Drawing and Painting and more.</p> <p>During the week, members of staff and students will be around to discuss courses and the curriculum to passers-by. With a variety of options available from evening courses through to BA (Hons) Degrees and Masters it’s a great opportunity to discover what the college has to offer.</p> <p><strong>Places are still available on courses for September 2013, drop into Drake Circus, get involved and find your perfect course today.</strong></p>
