Students get involved with award-winning film
Students from our BA (Hons) Film and BA (Hons) Costume Production and Associated Crafts programmes worked with BAFTA-winning director Robert Young on his latest film ‘Curse of The Phoenix’ last year.
The film has gone on to win the Platinum award in the Sci-fi/Horror category at the Houston World Fest – the third competitive international film festival in North America – celebrating outstanding creative excellence in film & video.
Our BA (Hons) Film students and grads were credited in the film, Joanna Ely as Associate Producer, Brent Zillwood as Edit Assistant, Patrick Sheehan as Sound Assistant and Sergei Kozin for Visual Effects.
From our BA (Hons) Costume Production and Associated Crafts programme students Charley Stanbury and Jerry Moore were asked to oversee and make selected costumes for the film.
“It’s brilliant to hear the film has won an award from such a prestigious festival, taking part in this has given our students the opportunity to not only work on an award winning film, but also to gain experience that goes towards their professional practice,” says Lucy Leake, BA (Hons) Film programme leader.
