Spring is officially here and it won’t be long until we’re treated to long summer days and hot sunny weather. There’s plenty to keep you busy for the month of May in Plymouth, so make use of those Bank Holidays and have a blast!
Brandon Cronenberg returns with a satirical look at the super rich and the morality of getting away with crimes against humanity. While staying at an isolated island resort, James (Alexander Skarsgård) and Em (Cleopatra Coleman) are enjoying a perfect holiday of pristine beaches, exceptional staff and soaking up the sun. But, guided by the seductive and mysterious Gabi (Mia Goth), they venture outside the resort grounds and find themselves in a culture filled with violence, hedonism and untold horror.

Second year Interior Design & Styling students will be hosting their own design trade show centred around evolving their future to be more sustainable, innovative and inspiring. Showcasing a range of sustainable exhibitors and both their current and brand new collections, the one night event will be the opportunity to discover new products to use within your upcoming projects, to network with others in the design industry and to see the students’ work on display.
Royal William Yard’s popular Good Food & Craft Market will be taking place inside the iconic Melville building and surrounding area outside. Enjoy the freshest local produce from the South West’s top suppliers and unique arts and crafts by artisan makers, while also having the opportunity to explore one of the Yard’s oldest buildings.
Are you ready for the biggest musical spectacle of the year? Join in the fun at Plymouth Guildhall for a night of glitter, glamour and catchy tunes as they host a Eurovision Song Contest watching party. Featuring European drinks, a fancy dress competition, a quiz and an aftershow party, this is a party not to be missed!

Plymouth Comic Con and Gaming Festival returns this summer, held over two days at the Life Centre. Featuring cosplaying, film and TV star guests, photo opportunities, vendors, tabletop gaming zones and more, there’s plenty of activities for all the family no matter their pop culture favourites.
Whether your aim is to return to running, smash an old personal best or take a challenging step-up to a new distance, there’s something for everyone at the South West’s most popular running events. Choose from three distances; half marathon, 10k and 5k, as well as Team Challenges and Primary School Challenges, and collect your custom made medal when you finish!
Set over two days of swashbuckling fun, the Plymouth Pirates Weekend transforms the Barbican and Sutton Harbour into a treasure trove of activities for all the family. With watersports, sea shanties, ships, a treasure trail and on street entertainment all weekend, there ARRR! plenty of things to do.

Shop small and shop local in Craft & Flea’s authentic twist on the traditional craft market, with a huge selection of products from illustration to vintage bric-a-brac, plants to jewellery, sustainable products to food, ceramics to candles and so much more! Craft & Flea is a collection of independent makers, collectors, designers and creatives all under one roof. This is not your typical craft fair, stalls have been handpicked based on their high quality, on-trend products.
Discover the heritage and history around the Royal Albert and Tamar bridges. This hour long tour will walk from the Visitor and Learning Centre across the Tamar Bridge to the Saltash end of the bridge. Along the way you’ll discover how the Royal Albert bridge was constructed, construction features of the Tamar Bridge and information about the local history of the area, with stunning views of the River Tamar along the way. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are advised!
Adventure Cinema is bringing your big screen favourites to the stunning grounds of Saltram House. This spectacular open-air cinema tour features an eclectic mix of classics, musicals, big blockbusters and family favourites with this year having the choice of Top Gun: Maverick (12), Pretty Woman (15) and Elvis (12). Buy your ticket, pack your picnic, camping chairs and blanket and join in the fun under the stars this summer.
Bringing the rebirth of the natural world with him, the Green Man is back for another year. Created by artists and volunteers, the massive figure presides over a joyous two day event. This free family festival includes wonders such as medieval knights in shining armour, live music, archery, delicious food, plenty of stalls with gifts and crafts and lots of free entertainment.

The Freedom Community Festival is an annual free event held at the Freedom Fields Park in the city centre, bringing people together to celebrate this diverse community of the city. Organised and ran by a team of dedicated, generous volunteers who work tirelessly to make it happen, the festival is supported by local organisations, performing artists, local people, sponsors and grants. Culture, great music, delicious food, market stalls, activities and community all blend seamlessly together to show Plymouth at its finest. Not one to be missed.
