Open Air Cinema is back! Summer is finally here and Plymouth Arts Cinema is showing movies for three wonderful weekends at Plymouth’s beautiful Tinside Lido. From Hollywood classics and cult favourites to screen treasures new and old, there will be something for everyone.

5 August to 4 September @ Tinside Lido

Now in its 25th year, Plymouth Punx Picnic 2022 is going to be the biggest picnic yet, taking place over four days, 39 bands, three DJs, two venues and one picnic! Across local venues The Nowhere Inn and The Pit & Pendulum, with a Saturday daytime meet up at Freedom Fields park, this is the perfect weekend to meet like minded punks and rockers.

1 to 4 September - 6pm to 11pm @ The Pit & Pendulum & The Nowhere Inn

Based on the true story of the chart-topping Cornish singing sensations and their hit 2019 movie, Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical is a feel-good voyage about friendship, community and music which smashed box office records in Cornwall. Climb aboard, find your sea legs and allow yourself to fall for this critically acclaimed musical - hook, line and sinker!

1 to 10 September - various times @ Theatre Royal Plymouth

BBC 6 Music's Nemone will be performing at the closing party for the music and nightlife exhibition 'because the night belongs to us' at The Box

With an all-female DJ line-up, headlined by none other than BBC Radio 6 Music’s Nemone, and support from local DJs Gabriela and Leonie Prentice, you can expect a sonic journey like no other - from soul and disco to house and electronica - all to celebrate the summer of the ‘because the night belongs to us’ music and nightlife exhibition.

2 September - 7.30pm to midnight @ The Box

At the Masters Summer Show 2022, postgraduate students from Arts University Plymouth will showcase a variety of exciting and dynamic research projects undertaken within our specialist postgraduate community of practice, working across specialisms that include painting, drawing, sculptural installation, moving image, design and ceramics.

2 to 8 September - 10am to 5pm @ Studio 11

Explore and refine your creative practice by joining our postgraduate community of thinkers, makers and researchers. Our Open Days are a chance for you to get to know Plymouth and the campus, plus get a feel of what life’s like at an independent art university. Meet our Postgraduate academics, hear from our alumni and visit our state-of-the-art campus.

This free festival is a vibrant celebration of the incredible sustainably caught fresh fish and seafood on offer in Britain’s Ocean City. Find out more about your local catch and learn from the amazing chefs, who will be cooking up a storm with fishy delights from around the world, plus trader stalls, fun activities for children, demonstrations and a cookery theatre.

Coming to Plymouth for the very first time, The Big 90’s Festival promises to be a throwback to all the amazing dance music straight from the 90s. With live DJs and fancy dress, as well as expect to see some of the biggest acts from across the years.
