
Young Arts | Holiday Club Animation - Summer 2026
Arts University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts feature the university's renowned Saturday Arts Clubs and for almost 40 years has worked to bridge the gap in arts provision for young people created by increasingly limited access to creative activity in schools.
<p dir="ltr">In this creative Animation based holiday club, you will explore animation techniques with two tutors to create two or more animations. You will work on different techniques in the morning and the afternoon building your skills over the three days, and your work will be shown in a digitised exhibition on Friday 31 July.<br /><br />In our three-day holiday club you will:</p><ul><li>Work with mannequins to explore movement in stop motion animation</li><li>Create a finished animation as a group using stop motion via DSLR camera</li><li>Explore using tablets to create animation digitally</li><li>Create a finished flat digital animation ready for screening</li><li>Plus more add on activities (if there is time)</li></ul>
<p>You will take all your work home with you at the end of the club, including some great final pieces, and you will see your work showcased in a digital exhibition on Friday 31 July.</p>
<p dir="ltr">No previous experience or skill level is required, but you must be able to work with others, as group work will be necessary. All materials are provided and final work will be sent as a digital folder link to download.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The age range for our Animation Holiday Club is 9-13 years, and spaces are limited.</p>

<p>No previous experience or skill level is required, the emphasis will be on trying a new technique and helping you to create fantastic outcomes. </p>
<p>Live (in person) studio workshops.</p>
<p dir="ltr">You will try new techniques and create several artworks that you will take home, and you'll see your work in a digital exhibition.</p>
<p>All materials and equipment are provided. </p>
