Young Arts | Holiday Club Art & Design - Summer 2026
Arts University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts feature the university's renowned Saturday Arts Clubs and for almost 40 years has worked to bridge the gap in arts provision for young people created by increasingly limited access to creative activity in schools.

In this creative Art & Design holiday club, you can create several artworks to take home and will learn a series of different Art, Textiles, Printmaking and Photography techniques. You’ll be working with three tutors over the four days and your work will be shown in a digitised exhibition, opening on Friday 31 July.

In our four day holiday club you can experience:

Sculpting a 3D ceramic head/face from clay

Drawing & painting: build up your painting and digitise your outcomes to see it come to life

What 3 images? Using place to inspire your imaginative drawing

DSLR photography mini project

Fashion or Games design - making moodboards

Paper clothes, design and making

Plus more creative activities in between.

You will take all your work home with you at the end of the club, including some great final pieces and you will see your work in a digital exhibition.

No previous experience or skill level is required, but you should be able to work both in groups or on your own. The emphasis will be on trying a new technique and helping you to create fantastic outcomes. All materials are provided each day.

The age range for our Holiday Club is 9-11yrs and 12-16 yrs, so some activities will have different levels of difficulty to engage all levels of experience and ability.
