Dan is a BA graduate of Arts University Plymouth. He has been making Raku-fired ceramics since 1996. Dan’s wheel thrown and altered pieces are finished with a range of Raku glazing methods including highly polished slip resist Raku and traditional Raku crackle glazes. Dan sells his ceramics through galleries and craft fairs across the UK.
Dan draws his inspiration from classic Grecian forms, as well as oriental pottery traditions. Contrasting light and dark, with shiny, satin and matt, layering on slips and glazes to achieve varying degrees of crackle finish.
Dan supports students in ceramics across the Craft & Material Practices programmes.
