Fi Russell
Lecturer
<p dir="ltr">Fi Russell is a Theatre Designer with over 15 years of industry experience, specialising in both set and costume design. She holds qualifications in Scenography from the University of Wales Aberystwyth and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theatre Design from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA)</p>
<p dir="ltr">Working across the spectrum of theatre practice, Fi has designed sets and costumes for large and small theatrical productions, creative learning projects, tours, site-specific theatre and event design, with skills in AutoCAD software, prop making and scenic painting. She has designed for film and worked as a wardrobe supervisor, costume maker and a stage manager, designing across a wide range of performance styles and venues.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Fi’s experience includes working in ballet and opera, including collaborating with London Children's Ballet (choreographed by Samantha Raine and Erico Montes) and with the Merry Opera Company (directed by Kit Hesketh Harvey). She has designed for a wide spectrum of periods, including 18th century-inspired designs for School for Scandal at The Park, and guiding Michael Billington through the intricacy of modern fashion for his production of Pinter's 'A Celebration'. Fi has worked on productions in locations including St James' Piccadilly and The Bristol Old Vic, in addition to working as resident set designer for Eton College.</p>
