Jeff Wright

Head of Compliance & Quality Systems
<p>Jeff has worked in the education sector since January 2013 and is a graduate of BRNC Dartmouth, University of Plymouth and the Open University.</p> <p>Prior to joining the education sector Jeff spent 25 years in the Royal Navy, in the UK, at sea and overseas specialising in various areas of logistics law and operations, as well as a sideline in intelligence photography. Jeff focused on education and training towards the end of his career, developing a programme in service law for which he was formally commended and also lectured in Operational Logistics and Law of Armed Conflict at BRNC Dartmouth.</p> <p>At Plymouth University Jeff worked in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, briefing on external policy and writing policy papers on a diverse range of subjects including the potential impact of Brexit on the HE Sector. Jeff was the lead speechwriter in the University and led the organisation of VIP visits, including memorably supporting the visit and hosting of HSH Prince Albert of Monaco for his honorary doctorate ceremony. </p> <p>Jeff is responsible for the overarching structure necessary to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements of a degree awarding institution and to maintain the quality assurance frameworks for that provision. This includes the review, organisation and control of college documentation. </p> <p>Responsible for managing student complaints, Jeff is also the Data Protection Officer and Information Manager. He maintains oversight of regional Prevent risk analyses and is a member of the Southwest Regional Prevent Partnership. Committed to supporting social justice, Jeff is Chair of the Equality &amp; Diversity Committee and is also a member of the Academic Standards &amp; Quality Committee, the Student Engagement &amp; Experience Committee and the Safeguarding Committee.</p> <p>Since becoming established at the college, Jeff is now renewing his passion for photography.</p>
