Sarah Thomas

Lecturer

Sarah is a visual artist whose practice includes sculpture, collage, drawing and printmaking. Her work practice involves repetitive and intensive processes that satisfy her physical and mental relationship with the work. The act of covering over for her is a form of decoration changing either the object that is being altered or the page that is being drawn on, reinventing its surface and its mass.

In 2002 Sarah gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Sculpture at Camberwell College of Art, and a Master of Arts degree in Fine Art Sculpture in 2005 at the Royal College of Art. She then went to work with the Maine Arts Commission, USA. Sarah has exhibited both nationally and internationally and also has extensive experience of gaining and curating public and Arts Council England funding for several community-based projects. Sarah is an active and dedicated supporter of local artists and has curated and organised many shows.

Sarah has worked as a lecturer on both Pre-Degree and undergraduate courses throughout the UK.
