Shelley Hartley
Shelley has had extensive experience in the upholstery Industry where she specialised in the sport and leisure sector where her projects have included briefs for pubs, clubs and restaurants. After starting her interior design career designing and manufacturing bespoke seating and upholstery, she moved on to education. After gaining her PGCE Shelley spent a year as a Teaching Assistant at our Palace Court campus, working with 9 - 16 year old's completing their National art and design awards. Her previous experience in the industry led her to run workshops for students in lampshade making.
After completing her BA(Hons) Interior Design at Plymouth College of Art, maintained her strong interest in soft furnishings and upholstery through launching her own business, Shelley Hartley Interiors, specialising in all aspects of interior design, concept building and specification.
Her professional projects to date have included:
Retail space at Grade 1 Listed, Royal William Yard, for Cornish clothing company Seasalt.
Interior design trade show curation (South West Creatives Trade Show) at Ocean Studios, Royal William Yard.
Photoshoot styling, photography and editorial writing for Interiors magazine, in collaboration with Linwood fabrics and Clash and Clash photography.
Plymouth Argyle football stadium, autism-friendly viewing box. Concept, research and design on an autism-friendly viewing box for Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Including bespoke furniture using local trades, sustainable, eco-friendly and low VOC products.
