Fashion alumni Alice Vandy set to stock designs in UK and US retailers
BA (Hons) Fashion alumni Alice Vandy saw sales peak to a record high at Christmas and New Years as customers from around the world stocked up on pieces from her new holographic Cosmic collection.
Since graduating in 2008 Alice has been determined to build her brand awareness nationally and internationally.
“At Plymouth College of Art I was always encouraged to be ambitious with plans to develop my own unique and memorable brand. My aspirations and dreams to go global were always nurtured and encouraged.”
A host of celebrities have championed her statement outfits at high profile events and shows over the past few years. This connection to top female acts has raised the Alice Vandy brand profile and boosted traffic to her website.
“I love to add a bit of 3D holographic sparkle to people’s lives, especially for Christmas and New Year. It’s been a busy time and my new Cosmic collection has been really popular. In January I take the chance to leave London to relax at my parent’s house in Cornwall after working hard over the festive season.”
“The garments I make suit wild, freethinking and passionate women oozing with attitude. In 2016 I’d like to see Bjork and MIA in my designs as they are really unique and inspiring."
This year Alice has a succession of exciting plans ahead including work trips to New York and Japan in February, both of which are to promote new collaborative lines launching in 2016.
“2016 will be a huge milestone for me as for the first time I will be stocking my designs in key retailers in the UK and USA. This will be great for brand awareness and also to reach to a global audience.
“In the future I want to add a couture line to my brand, and also move into accessories. My aim is to carve out a lifestyle that involves travelling and designing whilst overseeing the business side.
“I’d advise Plymouth College of Art graduates to work hard and persevere. Don’t get too worried about setting realistic goals!! I’ve always aimed high and set myself achievable goals to get there.”
