Gallery Shorts | Simon Bayliss: Meditations in an Emergency
Wednesday, 19 December, 2018 — Part one of the 2018/19 South West Showcase, Meditations in an Emergency is a show of brand new work by contemporary artist Simon Bayliss – combining rave music and video with slipware ceramics, en plein air landscape painting, and romantic poetry. <p>Acid trance, slipware pottery and rural, queer identity informed Simon Bayliss' exhibition in The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, visitors enjoyed a deliciously purple-hued experience at the opening of The Gallery’s South West Showcase 2018/19, artist Simon Bayliss’s new exhibition, ‘Meditations in an Emergency’. Bayliss’ entrancing show combined rave music and video with slipware ceramics, en plein air landscape painting, and romantic poetry.</p>
