Plymouth College of Art's Extended Diploma Photography course is holding a schools photo competition aimed at sixth form and secondary school students aged 14-17.

The brief:

The brief is simple: represent your family in a photograph. This could be anything from a formal portrait of everyone in their Sunday best, a snapshot of the chaos of Christmas day, or a photo documenting fierce rivalry between siblings as they battle it out on a video game.

The style of photograph you take is entirely up to you but judges will be looking for photos with lots of character and personality that capture the essence of family. And each photograph must feature at least one human member of your family!

Prizes:

1st prize: Fuji Finepix underwater camera

2nd prize: Wacom Bamboo graphics Tablet

3rd prize: Lomo fisheye camera + free film

Highly commended: £20 Curry's voucher

Each winner will also receive a professional quality mounted print of their work, their photograph exhibited at the summer show and on the Plymouth College of Art website, and a free place on our Saturday Arts Club. All entries will also be hosted on the Extended Diploma Photography Faceook page.

How to enter:

The competition is open from 20th January to 9th May 2014. Send your entries to pcaschoolsphotocompetition@gmail.com with details of the photographer's name, age, and school. Maximum three entries per person.
