CertHE Ceramics & Glass

At Arts University Plymouth we continue to invest heavily in new studios and workshops that redefine the relationship between media, fine art, digital technology and handcrafted traditions.

<p dir="ltr">We offer the richest, most diverse ecosystem of materials, technologies, processes, practices, and exchange of ideas of any art school in the UK. And that synergy gives us a certain kind of energy.</p> <p dir="ltr">We provide space, equipment and – crucially – the technical help to make full use of this for students across all of our creative programmes. Our 13,000 square metres of studios and workshops across four buildings are kitted out with professional workspaces and state of the art facilities.</p> <p dir="ltr">We actively encourage you to use areas and communal space to curate and exhibit work collaboratively or individually and in various 2D, 3D, 4D and digital formats. Becoming part of our interdisciplinary learning community offers you a diverse and challenging environment in which to develop your thinking and practice.<br /></p>

Material Lab
In the Material Lab you will be encouraged to acquire haptic – touch-based – and manipulative skills and gain an understanding of material properties.

Fab Lab South West
Our ‘fabrication laboratory’ is kitted-out with the latest in digital design technologies – from 3D printers to 3D scanners, a vinyl cutter, CNC milling machine, CNC router and laser cutter. It adds a whole new level of opportunity for students across all creative walks of life.

Media and Photography Studios
Our students make full use of our industry-standard dedicated studio spaces – including our infinity cove, green screen, and specialist sound studio (with Foley pit and vocal recording booth) – plus our stop-motion suite, our darkrooms, and plenty of individual edit suites, all up-to-date with the latest industry-standard software.
