National Saturday Club | 14-16yrs | Art & Design 2024/25
Art University Plymouth’s Young Arts programme was established in 1988. Young Arts also offers local participants the chance to join one of the National Saturday Clubs, and be part of a UK-wide initiative with over 70 clubs taking place across the country. National Saturday Clubs provide members with an array of transferable skills that are greatly sought after by employers in the UK’s thriving creative sector and beyond.
<p dir="ltr">Arts University Plymouth are offering free places on the prestigious National Saturday Club. We are looking for dedicated, creative young people aged 14-16 years who aspire to be the artists and designers of the future. We are especially looking for people who are interested in future creative studies or careers in the Creative Industries.</p>
<p dir="ltr">You will study a range of art, craft, design and media disciplines via weekly skills workshops, and finish the club with a longer final project creating artwork ready for exhibition in the Summer Show.</p>
<p dir="ltr">You will also have the opportunity to gain an Arts Award qualification (optional), and to become part of this exciting national initiative known as The Saturday Club Trust which extends to over 70 clubs around the UK. <p dir="ltr">If you are more interested in fashion, textiles or styling apply for the <a href="https://www.aup.ac.uk/courses/young-arts/national-fashion-and-business-saturday-club-2024" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Fashion & Business Club</a> at Arts University Plymouth. Applications are now open for 2024/25, and both clubs will begin in November 2023 and run for 15 Saturdays during term time.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Sessions will be mostly in our studios at Palace Court with a few sessions at another site, or on location.</p>

<p dir="ltr">No specific skills or experience are required, just an interest in creative learning and careers. You MUST be aged between 14-16 years on 1st September 2024, as the Plymouth clubs are for those who are, or would be in school years 10 or 11 (we would consider those who would be in year 12 if they are not studying art full time).<br /></p>
<p>All materials and equipment are provided.</p>
