Bethany Wood

<p dir="ltr">Bethany Wood graduated from De Montfort in 2014 with a Design Crafts degree, specialising in hot glass. As a multidisciplinary artist, she has begun to merge her two creative passions: painting and glassmaking, showcasing the fluidity of the material and using her own paintings as a reference in the hot shop.</p> <p dir="ltr">“If I was not an artist, I would have been a performer. I chose glass, which I do believe is a performance of art; both disciplines create the same energy. There is rhythm and adrenaline in glassmaking, within a routine that is planned very carefully”</p> <p dir="ltr">Inspired by nature, the serendipity of abstraction has always been an inspiration for Wood; the palette, composition, and depth of her glasswork is taken from nature with a bold expressionist style. <br /></p>
