Jess Manford
Studio Coordinator - Pre-Degree
<p>In 1993, Jess enrolled on an Animation Saturday Arts course at Arts University Plymouth. She then went on to enrol on several other courses here, and at the age of 16 started her BTEC in General Art and Design and A-level Photography.</p>
<p>She then went on to study a degree in Photomedia and Design Communications at Arts University Plymouth (then Plymouth College of Art), gaining a 1st Class Honours Degree and PQE with the BIPP. Jess was rewarded with the Colin Gibb Award and won a New Designers award for ‘Innovation in Design’, gaining her a cash prize and a six month work placement with Paper Rose.</p>
<p>Jess freelanced as a photographer and designer for five years, working with local and national companies gaining experience in a variety of projects.</p>
<p>She then went on to rejoin the university, working in several different roles, ranging from Library support and Short Course tutor, then Technician for the ERC and BA (Hons) Graphics and Illustration. Jess is now Studio Coordinator for our Pre-Degree Centre, setting up and running the silkscreen printing studio at Palace Court, our dedicated post-16 campus. She has a strong interest in photography, illustration and printing.</p>
