Jonah Garner

<p dir="ltr">Jonah has two roles at Arts University Plymouth. Depending on the day of the week, you’ll find him as either our Digital Education Advisor or an Academic Librarian. Having worked at the university since 2017, he has extensive knowledge of the library collection and the digital systems. Jonah’s roles include providing coaching on a one to one level, as well as designing and delivering both in-program and additional bookable group sessions.</p> <p dir="ltr">In his Digital Education role, he provides support with students working within the digital realm: whether they need mentorship with their essential digital skills, want to discuss the ethical implications of generative AI, or have an idea and want to work out how to make it come to fruition. Any questions about Adobe Express, the Google Workspace, Canvas, or the wider university systems can be directed his way.</p> <p dir="ltr">In his Library role, he works with students on research and Harvard referencing, and can also often be found behind the library counter performing the day to day runnings of the library. You can book in with Jonah if you need help finding a resource, working out what resources you need to find, discussing your ideas and research, to learn about Harvard Referencing and Paperpile (our referencing tool), or just to cast an eye over your references before you submit your work.</p> <p dir="ltr">Jonah has a degree in English with Creative Writing from Falmouth University and also has an Award in Education and Training. Having grown up in a family composed entirely of artists and those in the art world, he feels at home surrounded by creatives.</p> <p dir="ltr">Outside of the university, you’ll find Jonah on the moors, in the sea, off on an adventure, or in the kitchen - where he cooks up an abundance of vegan food (including his PETA award winning Vegan poached ‘egg’). His most recent adventures include riding a tiny 2bhp monkeybike across Morocco and riding the iron ore train across the Sahara in Mauritania.<br /></p>
