Sue is a Plymouth based printmaker and owner of Colossal, an innovative mobile print workshop designed and constructed by Sue. She engages with community through hands-on forms of engagement, bringing print to the people and igniting creativity through print.
Sue graduated from BA (Hons) Graphic Design in 2015 with a First Class Honours before completing her MA in Printmaking in 2021 with a Distinction. Sue also received the Principal's Commendation for a high level of engagement and excellence in externalising her practice-led research through social practice.
In 2015, Sue won ‘Best in Show’ at D&AD New Blood Festival 2015 in London. She has since facilitated workshops, at both Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth Arts Centre - and she is currently running the print workshop at Ocean Studios, Plymouth, where her artist studio is also based.
Collaboration and the collaborative possibilities of printmaking are ingrained within Sue’s own work, in which a range of processes from collage and found imagery to the artist’s own photography are explored. The results are undeniably synergetic; photography, textures and geometric forms are thoughtfully layered and combined creating an orchestrated energy. As she continues to develop her work, Sue continues an ongoing dialogue through a visually vibrant body-of-work.
Sue has worked with arts organisations across Plymouth such as The Box, KARST, Take A Part, Plymouth Design Form, Plymouth Culture and Arts University Plymouth.
