BA (Hons) Content Creation

Jenny Evans is a creative marketing specialist and award-winning entrepreneur, bringing current industry practice into the classroom to help students develop the creative, technical and strategic skills needed to thrive in the evolving creator economy. Jenny has over a decade of experience as an entrepreneur and artist. While studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University, she won Santander's University Entrepreneur's national competition, securing a £25,000 grand prize. After graduating with First Class Honours, she established an investor-backed business, raising a £350,000 seed round and leading a team of ten across two UK offices, designing and manufacturing luxury homeware and fashion accessories sold internationally. Alongside running her business, Jenny served as UK Policy Chair for Young Entrepreneurs at the Federation of Small Businesses, influencing national policy to improve support for young entrepreneurs. She later mentored hundreds of founders through Outset and has held marketing roles including Digital Content and Social Media Officer at Arts University Plymouth. Throughout her career, Jenny has specialised in organic digital growth, generating millions of views through the content she has created, as well as developing content strategies that have delivered significant commercial impact for creative businesses. Alongside her teaching, Jenny is studying on our MA by Research, exploring digital community-building through creative collecting, examining how content creation can foster shared knowledge, cultural memory and new forms of value online. She also serves as a Trustee for Plymouth Culture, contributing to the strategic direction of the city's creative and cultural sector. Jenny is passionate about helping the next generation of creators, entrepreneurs and marketers build meaningful, sustainable creative careers, combining industry expertise, research and innovative teaching to prepare students for the future of the creative industries. Jenny is Course Leader for BA (Hons) Content Creation at Arts University Plymouth, and played a key role in the development and launch of the university's newest undergraduate degree in partnership with The Influencer Academy. Alongside leading our BA (Hons) Content Creation course, Jenny teaches on BA (Hons) Textile Design, bringing an interdisciplinary perspective that combines creative practice, marketing strategy and industry collaboration.

Jane Prior studied Professional Media at Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education, graduating in 1999, and obtained a PGCE with the University of Plymouth in 2004. She has been teaching photography for over 13 years, beginning her career in Further Education across A-Level, Foundation, Access to HE and National Diploma courses, and most recently taught on BA (Hons) Photography at Arts University Plymouth. Jane's current role is as our Employer Engagement Coordinator and Partnership Link Tutor. Before moving into education, Jane worked in London within the field of food photography, collaborating with clients such as M&S, Sainsbury’s, and Pizza Hut. She later developed a successful freelance practice in wedding and portrait photography, an experience that continues to inform her understanding of people, narrative, and the construction of images. In 2019, Jane completed her MA in Photography and the Book, which marked a significant shift in her creative direction. Since then she has exhibited work both nationally and internationally, from Paris to Stockholm. Her current work focuses on the representation of women in a digitally saturated society, exploring how socially constructed facades, layered narratives, and patriarchal structures shape self-image. Through photography and text, she investigates how memory is used to preserve or reshape our sense of self. Alongside her teaching, Jane works as Arts University Plymouth’s Employability and Engagement Coordinator. In this role, she works closely with external clients and partners to facilitate live briefs and collaborative projects that enhance student learning and professional readiness. Jane enjoys developing opportunities that connect students with real-world practice, from working with organisations such as Plymouth City Council and St. Luke’s Hospice to independent local businesses. Jane’s professional insight informs her commitment to helping students build confidence, communication skills, and professionalism as they prepare to enter the creative industries. Sam Trevains is an experienced filmmaker and Technical Tutor specialising in storytelling, world-building and practical approaches to filmmaking. After graduating from the University of Plymouth in 2023, Sam worked as a camera operator on an episode of Time Team, gaining valuable professional experience within the television industry. He has also worked as part of the crew on an award-winning student film and has developed experience across a range of creative production techniques, including designing and fabricating puppets for stop-motion projects. Sam joined Arts University Plymouth soon after graduating, initially working in the Equipment Resource Centre, where he developed extensive technical knowledge and supported students across a wide range of creative disciplines. Now, as a Technical Tutor, he is able to provide students with a more in-depth, hands-on learning experience, sharing his knowledge of industry equipment, filmmaking processes and creative production. Alongside his professional practice, Sam is currently undertaking an MA in Fine Art, specialising in film and photography. His research explores his interest in noir cinema and German Expressionism, informing an increasingly distinctive approach to visual storytelling, atmosphere and image-making. Sam is skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud, with particular experience in Photoshop and Premiere Pro, as well as Lightroom, InDesign and After Effects. Combining technical expertise with a passion for creative storytelling, Sam supports students to explore ideas, develop practical skills and bring ambitious creative projects to life.
