Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Game Art Education

Last updated January 2026

We are researchers based at Arts University Plymouth, exploring the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in creative education. Our work focuses on its impact within game art pedagogy, creative practice, and ethical considerations, with particular attention to Generation Z students on the BA (Hons) Animation and Games programme. Using a mixed-methods approach combining case studies, surveys, and interviews, we examine how AI is reshaping artistic workflows and ideation, while also addressing concerns around authorship, originality, and responsible use. Our findings support a balanced and critically informed integration of AI within higher education frameworks.
