<p dir="ltr">Artslink Go Local is an Art and Design Further Education college, located at the heart of Shanghai with a truly global outlook. Working with Arts University Plymouth, Artslink Go Local offers students the opportunity to engage with UK degree programmes from Artslink’s campus environment in downtown Zhongshan Park, Shanghai.</p> <p dir="ltr">Artslink Go Local students are welcome to make the Artslink Go Local campus their home, attending class from the Artslink Go Local campus just as they would in the UK, interacting with colleagues and classmates face-to-face in addition to online. Students will also benefit from access to local university-standard creative workshops and studios, alongside online engagement with Arts University Plymouth’s expert staff, including:</p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Academic tutorial support</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Contextual studies seminars</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Technical support</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">English for Academic Purposes workshops.</p></li></ul> <p dir="ltr">Artslink Go Local's own team of tutors will be on hand to provide guidance and support to students throughout the first year of their degree. From experiential retail designers to couture pattern cutters to freelance illustrators, Artslink Go Local tutors are all active creative practitioners with a wealth of experience in the global creative industries, ready to support your studies and work alongside tutors from Arts University Plymouth to ensure your successful progression to your chosen degree. </p> <p dir="ltr">Our international recruitment team are ready to work with you and the team at Artslink Go Local to help you sort out your travel to and arrival in the UK, as well as helping you find accommodation in Plymouth, and settling into life as a student in the UK.</p> <p dir="ltr"> </p> <p dir="ltr">If you don't meet our requirements for direct entry on to a BA, ArtsLink Go Local also offer a six month foundation course starting in August, which allows you to develop your creative skills, portfolio and academic English, and guarantees you a place upon successful completion and interview.<br /></p>

<p>In order to enrol on a Foundation course at Artslink, you will need to achieve the following qualifications:<br /></p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Huikao minimum of 60% / Successful completion of Chinese Senior Secondary School Certificate at 60%.</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 4.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or equivalent.</p></li></ul> <p dir="ltr"> </p> <p dir="ltr">In order to enrol on a BA (Hons) course at Arts University Plymouth, you will need to achieve the following qualifications:</p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Huikao minimum of 70% (or other L2 qualifications e.g. iGCSEs)</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or equivalent and successful candidate articulation discussion including presentation of the portfolio with the Arts University Plymouth Admissions and Recruitment team</p></li></ul> <p>We recognise the value of a variety of qualifications and relevant experience and welcome applications from students who have followed less traditional routes. <p>All applicants will be required to show a portfolio of creative work, and may be invited to an interview with a member of Arts University Plymouth’s academic team. We welcome interest from students who may not have the traditional qualification profile, but can demonstrate their skills and abilities through the interview and portfolio process, and have the capacity to develop their academic skills during their first year of study.</p> <p>Once we’ve received your application, we will set up your interview: if you are living overseas this will be an online video or telephone call. <p>All students applying to study at Arts University Plymouth need to demonstrate that they have a good command of the English language. Our standard language requirement is <strong>IELTS 6.0</strong> with a <strong>minimum score of 5.5 in each component or an equivalent standard in an alternative English language test. </strong>If you are not sure which test to take, please email <a href="mailto:international@aup.ac.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">international@aup.ac.uk</a> and we can advise you.</p> <p>For students who require it, Artslink also offers pre-sessional English language programmes to help you achieve Arts University Plymouth’s English language entry requirement of IELTS 6.0. Comprising of intensive study of all four key language competencies (reading, writing, speaking and listening), students will be immersed in a creative English-speaking environment at the Artslink campus in the autumn, ensuring quick and effective progression for achieving satisfactory IELTS grades to start Year 1 of their BA (Hons) degree. </p> <p>After students have completed a pre-sessional language course with Artslink, a quick and affordable online language test can be taken for Arts University Plymouth using Duolingo, to demonstrate your English language progress and support your application.</p> <p>Furthermore, when students subsequently start their chosen degree course, all students enrolled at the Artslink Connected Campus will benefit from additional ongoing English for Academic Purposes classes specially designed for the needs of university art and design students in China. From essay writing workshops to English for critiques and presentations, students will enjoy personalised support for their language study needs.<br /></p>
