<p dir="ltr">The <a href="https://www.impactlab.org.uk/">Environmental Futures &amp; Big Data Impact Lab</a> (Impact Lab) was part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is a partnership of seven, world class Devon-based organisations: Arts University Plymouth, University of Exeter (Lead Partner), Exeter City Futures, Met Office, University of Plymouth, Plymouth Marine Laboratory, and Rothamsted Research. <br /></p> <p dir="ltr">This industrial research project provided Devon based SME’s deep technical support to develop innovative new products, services and process innovations that have a sustainability and/or a data element. SMEs were supported by bespoke project teams from across the partnership, Arts University Plymouth’s expertise focused on materials research, digital design and digital manufacturing, such as digital 3D design for additive and subtractive manufacturing processes.</p> <p dir="ltr">Arts University Plymouth’s activity was delivered via our <a href="https://www.fablabplymouth.org/">Fab Lab Plymouth</a> staff team and the Fab Lab technologies. Clients ranged from established businesses to pre-revenue startups and alumni. Technologies supported ranged from TRL levels 3 to 9, with most projects between levels 3 and 7.</p> <p dir="ltr">Arts University Plymouth’s outputs:</p><ul><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">20 SME clients were supported </p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">3,483 hours of technical support provided </p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">TRL levels 3-9</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">15 new products to market</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">5 new products to the firm </p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">2.5 new jobs were created</p></li><li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Supported 6 clients to access over £60,000 grant funding</p></li></ul>
