Hidden Talent in Devon
2017-2020
Hidden Talent in Devon (HTiD) was a partnership project part-financed by European Social Fund (ESF) and delivered by Arts University Plymouth in partnership with University of Plymouth, City College Plymouth, University of Exeter, South Devon College, Petroc.
HTiD supported Devon based people to develop their skills through short courses and creative workshops and to support their employability, self-employment or progression to Higher Education.
Arts University Plymouth delivered activity through a variety of short course taster sessions, access to FE and HE sessions, and portfolio development as well as the structured 12 week Making Change programme. Making Change was a 12 session short course oriented towards physical arts practices; the first half was aimed at developing skills and confidence while the second half built on these and enabled participants to pursue a personal project guided and supported by their tutor. Course included: Make (Almost) Anything, Making Change Portfolio Development, and Fab Lab training workshops in Robotics and 3D printing.
Across the partnership 1,496 participated in the opportunities provided through HTiD. Some of Arts University Plymouth’s achievements include:
168 people to access a free course or training activity; 103 of these received training through Arts University Plymouth’s Fab Lab
26 people took part in the Making Change access to HE course; 15 of these progressed to a higher education course as a result.
